South African-born cinematographer Mathew Rüdenberg is drawn to moments when camera, lighting and performance come together to heighten the emotional impact of a scene.
Most recently, he was director of photography on eight episodes of Season 2 of the hit ABC drama High Potential. His television work also includes the cult favorites Blue Mountain State and Kroll Show, the pilot and both seasons of MTV’s The Hard Times of RJ Berger, and the Emmy-winning interview series Actors on Actors, which he has photographed since its launch in 2014.
His feature work spans festival-premiering independent films and larger-scale productions for major studios and streaming platforms. His credits include the Tribeca world premiere Ultrasound, a science-fiction thriller; the SXSW world premiere The Prank, starring Rita Moreno; the psychological horror film Sun Choke; the Paramount+ romantic comedy Zoey 102; and the four-time Emmy-nominated Roku action comedy Die Hart 2: Die Harter, starring Kevin Hart.
He lives in Northeast Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
